Important changes in VAT in Poland - new rules on e-invoicing and central register of invoices

As early as of January 1, 2022, in addition to standard paper and electronic invoices, a new type – structured invoices, will come into operation. They will be issued and received in a standardized XSD format through a national IT program, the National System of e-Invoices (KSeF).

In the first stage, this solution will be voluntary. However, it is worth to get acquainted with the assumptions of the system because, according to the announcements of the Ministry of Finance, it is going to be mandatory for all taxpayers as from 2023 – including foreign taxpayers registered only for VAT purposes in Poland. This means that the Polish VAT taxpayers will have approximately 12 months to prepare their organizations for another significant change that will influence their VAT settlements. For those willing to voluntarily use structured invoices from 2022, the provisions provide for certain incentives.

We will present these issues on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. during a webinar organised by MDDP experts on the MDDP Knowledge Platform, to which you are cordially invited.

The webinar will be conducted in English. Webinar is free of charge.

Agenda

Presenting these new solutions, we will focus on to their practical aspects related to the application of the new regulations, including:

  1. the time and method of issuing and receiving an invoice in KSeF vs tax point and contractual requirements,
  2. what benefits can taxpayers expect from the voluntary use of structured invoices,
  3. what if a buyer does not consent to invoicing in the KSeF system,
  4. granting permissions to use KSeF – what kind and for whom,
  5. what problems should taxpayers, who want to issue structured invoices, be prepared for?
