MDDP and Osborne Clarke Scholarship Program for Ukrainian children

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, MDDP and Osborne Clarke, in addition to ongoing support for refugees in areas where they need help most, sought to create a long-term aid program for Ukraine.

Having gathered suggestions from our employees, we decided to set up a scholarship program for Ukrainian children. This is how we can support the establishment and functioning of a Ukrainian school in Warsaw. It was officially launched with the new school year on 1 September 2022.

The commitment of people of good will and the determination of the “Educational Center Children of Ukraine” Foundation, a general education school for 130 students and a music school were opened in Marki near Warsaw (ul. Stanisława Wyspiańskiego 2). Children from Ukraine will learn there according to the Ukrainian curriculum.

The school was created in Warsaw by Olesya Kovalchuk and Natalia Voloshko – teachers who ran similar schools in Kharkiv. There will be 11 classes in the school, with about 12 students in each.

In the 2022/2023 school year, MDDP and Osborne Clarke law firm will fund scholarships for thirty children. The assumption is that if the situation requires it, we will provide scholarships for 30 children also in the next school year.

The school is still collecting funds for ongoing operations and further development. If you would like to financially support the Ukrainian school in Warsaw, a donation will be much appreciated: link

The Educational Center for Children of Ukraine Foundation was established to provide educational opportunities to Ukrainian children who were forced to leave their homeland due to the war and found shelter in Poland. It focuses on creating educational outlets for children where they can get a good quality education by learning their native language, practicing sports, getting to know art, communicating with friends in their native language, exploring the history and culture of Ukraine. Thanks to the activities of the Ukrainian school, children will not lose their Ukrainian identity and cultural traditions.
