MDDP at the Withholding Tax Conference

We are pleased to announce that Justyna Bauta-Szostak, Partner, Tax Advisor, and Legal Counsel at MDDP, will participate in the 1st Nicolai Copernici Global Tax Talks: Withholding Tax Challenges conference. This prestigious event will take place on May 9–10, 2025, at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland.

On the first day of the conference, Justyna Bauta-Szostak will deliver a presentation titled: “Implications of the CJEU ruling in the case Nordcurrent Group (C-228/24) for the Polish practice of withholding tax,” sharing insights on recent legal developments and their impact on Polish tax practice.

Organized by the Department of Public Finance Law at Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Toruń Scientific Society, the conference will gather international experts, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, and practitioners to discuss current trends and challenges in the field of withholding tax.

Withholding tax is one of the key issues in tax law from a business perspective. It requires a prompt and thorough clarification of the doubts surrounding the application of its provisions so that the tax can operate effectively—not only from the perspective of the state, but also for businesses.
