VAT Practice has been named one of “Indirect Tax Leaders”

MDDP’s VAT Practice has been yet again – for the 5th consecutive year – named one of “Indirect Tax Leaders” by International Tax Review. All four Partners of the VAT Practice were listed among the best VAT specialists in Poland in 2020! This is proof of the consistently top level of advisory service so constantly recognised and appreciated by the market.

What makes us stand out?

  • MDDP’s VAT Practice is one of the largest and most successful specialist tax teams in Poland.
  • We have extensive experience – all our Partners have over 20 years of experience in taxes and are involved in ongoing VAT advisory for clients.
  • We are actively involved in activities aimed at improving the quality of legal provisions – we act as Sejm experts, experts for business and trade organizations and associations, always with the aim of improving the law or the legal standing of taxpayers.
  • We are also actively involved in the work of the European Commission aimed at amending the EU VAT system – MDDP is the only Polish entity invited to the VAT Expert Group appointed by the European Commission.
  • We are opinionated – we have authored numerous VAT publications. Tomasz Michalik is the author of the commentary to the VAT Act (which has already had 15 updated editions), Janina Fornalik is the author of the book

“Mechanizm podzielonej płatności w pytaniach i odpowiedziach”[“Split payment mechanism in questions and answers”] and „VAT w samorządach”[“VAT in local governments”], and Bartosz Bogdański is the co-author of the publication “Nieruchomości. Sprzedaż, najem, dzierżawa 2011. Skutki w PIT, CIT i VAT”, [“Real Estate. Sale, Rental, Lease 2011. Effects on PIT, CIT and VAT”, three editions of which have already been published. We are also the authors of dozens of articles in domestic and foreign trade publications.

  • We have a group of experts specializing in VAT-related litigations and controversies – since 2004 we have represented our clients almost 1,000 times before administrative courts of both instances. We have appeared 4 times before the Court of Justice of the European Union representing the taxpayer. We have conducted many VAT proceedings that have been recognised as landmark ones or have been highly appreciated by the trade.
