COVID-19 - New health and safety requirements for workplaces

On 31 March 2020, the government announced the introduction of new restrictions in connection with preventing the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. The changes concern, among other things, all operating workplaces. The new requirements for employers will enter into force on 2 April 2020.

The employers are obliged to provide:

  • to persons employed regardless of the basis of employment disposable gloves or hand disinfectants,
  • a distance between workplaces of at least 1.5 m, unless this is not possible due to the nature of the activity carried out in the workplace concerned and the employer provides personal protective equipment relating to the control of COVID-19.

Important! The employer must provide these safety measures from Thursday, 2 April 2020.

These requirements apply to all workplaces – factories, warehouses, retail outlets and offices.

Such requirements may require changes in the organization of work in the workplace. Tax settlements of expenditure on this type of assortment shall be also considered.
